SEATTLE, April 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Isilon(R) Systems (Nasdaq: ISLN), the leader in clustered storage, today announced that Steve Fitz is joining Isilon as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales. Mr. Fitz will report directly to Isilon CEO, Steve Goldman, and will lead Isilon's global sales business during a period of rapid growth and expansion in the clustered storage market. Prior to joining Isilon, Mr. Fitz served in a number of senior executive positions at EMC Corporation, including most recent posts as EMC Senior Vice President and President of EMC Asia Pacific/Japan. Isilon also today announced that Paul Rutherford has been named Isilon Vice President of Engineering. Mr. Rutherford had been previously serving as Isilon's Senior Director of Software Engineering, where he has played a key role in leading Isilon's software team responsible for developing Isilon's OneFS(R) Operating System Software and Suite of Clustered Storage Software Applications. Prior to joining Isilon, Mr. Rutherford served as Chief Technology Officer of ADIC. Prior to joining Isilon, Mr. Fitz, a twenty-year industry veteran, spent 16 years at EMC where he managed EMC's sales efforts focusing on large-scale, complex IT solutions across services, software and hardware. In his most recent position with EMC, Mr. Fitz was responsible for growing EMC's Asia/Pacific business, ultimately leading a global team of more than 2,100 employees spanning 15 countries, which generated more than $1 billion in revenue. Prior to that position, Mr. Fitz served as EMC's Divisional Vice President based in New York City, leading a team of more than 400 people with revenue responsibility exceeding $1 billion. Eric Scollard, who has been serving as Vice President of Sales for Isilon, will serve as Isilon's Vice President of Sales, North America. Mr. Rutherford brings more than 20 years of experience in leading and managing technology strategy in the storage and archiving market to his new leadership role at Isilon. He also has experience leading software development for high-capacity storage systems in the federal government and oil & gas industries through Raytheon Company. In his new position as Isilon Vice President of Engineering, Mr. Rutherford will be replacing Mark Schrandt.
