BURBANK, Calif., Oct. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- IYUNO Media Group (IYUNO) launches a new Subtitling and Dubbing Crowdfunding platform, with a strong backup from its multinational localizing capabilities.
KickSubs (www.kicksubs.com site due to open on November 1st) crowdfunds video localization for viewers who couldn't enjoy the content due to language barriers. Site members are introduced to videos not yet available in their languages, and when interested, can fund for its subtitling / dubbing. When funding reaches its goal and the videos are localized, these supporting members, or "Backers," receive an exclusive viewing window.
This revolutionary service model also opens new possibilities to members providing content, or "Content Providers." The site can be used as test beds for new programs in new markets; all relevant marketing information is provided afterwards. When funding is complete, the created subtitles / dubbing files are handed over to the content owner as permanent property. Finally, any funding exceeding its goal is shared with the content owner.
IYUNO's CEO David Lee says, "With the spread of various OTT platforms, content globalization is becoming a major business opportunity - and a major investment at the same time. Through KickSubs, content owners can create localization assets such as subtitles or dubbed audios while avoiding the risk of pre-investing. Additionally, Backers will virtually act as their marketers by spreading their videos through the web and make it go viral. Also, Content Providers would receive analyzed data of the 'crowd' who funded their content, which they could use as firm grounds to construct accurate distribution strategies for the new markets."
IYUNO is showcasing the beta launch of KickSubs at MIPCOM 2016 held in Cannes, France from October 17th to 20th. The booth number is P-1, C7.
