James Lang Joins the NASP Board of Directors
TAMPA, Fla, March 21, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The National Association of Specialty Pharmacy™ (NASP™) announced today James R. Lang, Vice President of Pharmacy, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, has joined the NASP Board of Directors.

Dr. Lang currently serves as the Vice President of Pharmacy Services for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, a health plan that serves approximately 4.5 million lives and has a drug spend of $5 billion.
Most recently he served as President of Anthem Prescription Management where he grew the company from serving two million members to more than seven million members. Prior to joining Anthem, Dr. Lang was the President of Healthsource Rx, a subsidiary of Healthsource that provided pharmacy benefit management services for approximately 1.5 million members in 15 states. He also served as the Vice President for Clinical Pharmacy Services for ValueRx, the national pharmacy benefit manager, then owned by Value Health and managed the pharmacy benefit for four HMOs operated by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.

Dr. Lang earned his Bachelor and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of Michigan. He also holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University. He has authored numerous publications in national health care journals and presented at hundreds of invited speaking engagements. In 2012, the University of Michigan, College of Pharmacy, gave him the Alumni Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award.
