Jay Thalheim, 91 Passes Away
BOCA RATON, Fla., Nov. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Jay R. Thalheim, a leader and pioneer of the exposition industry passed away on November 3, 2013. Jay Thalheim founded Thalheim Expositions, Inc. which became one of the largest and most successful independent exposition management companies in the U.S. In 1988 the company was acquired by United Newspapers which is now known as UBM plc, parent company of PR Newsire and iReach.
Jay Thalheim and his wife, Beth Thalheim were the first recipients of the Kings Glove Award honoring their contributions to the exposition industry in NYC. Thalheim Expositions, Inc. operated the very first exposition held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in 1986 along with many of the largest expositions held there.
He is survived by his 3 children, David Thalheim, Amy Handwerker, and Neil Thalheim along with his 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
