Jewish News Service (JNS.org) releases iOS and Android app
BOSTON, March 11, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The Jewish News Service (JNS.org)—an independent, non-profit wire service covering Jewish news and Israel news throughout the English-speaking world—has released a mobile app now available in the iOS and Android platforms. Download the app from Apple's App Store or the Google Play App Store.
In less than three years, JNS.org has grown its relationship with U.S. Jewish media by providing content to more than 100 daily, weekly, and monthly publications across the country. Following the launch of its successful news website, www.JNS.org, the JNS.org news app is a new platform for the organization's reporting on Jewish communities in the United States, around the world, and in Israel.
"Although a major goal for JNS.org has been to protect and even enhance print newspapers' historic role on the front lines of Jewish media, we are also keenly aware that the habits of the public's news consumption, especially among younger people, are going more and more digital. Many people are now primarily accessing news via their mobile devices," said Alina Dain Sharon, Managing Editor of JNS.org.
With a clean, streamlined, and easy-to-navigate design, news consumers can use the app to access the latest developments updated in real-time. Users can navigate through the News Briefs section for daily breaking news from Israel and the Jewish world. The features section updates regularly with enterprise reporting and human-interest stories from a Jewish angle. The Opinion section updates with a variety of perspectives on many significant issues, and includes op-eds by JNS.org Shillman Analyst Ben Cohen.
The app's navigation menu also allows users to access news and analysis in a variety of sub-categories, including Jewish holidays, arts, politics, health, sports, and more. Additionally, the app is streamlined with JNS.org's growing social media presence via @JNSworldnews on Twitter and Facebook.com/JNS.org.
"For those in the Jewish community or those interested in Jewish news, we are excited to offer this new resource. For any questions or concerns, please contact JNS.org at email@example.com," Sharon said.
