Joe Weitekamp Volunteers as Clinician, Lending Horse Training Expertise to the Bluebonnet Horse Expo Texas Horse Trainer Joe Weitekamp To Teach Ground Working Techniques to Horse Owners at Charity Expo
DALLAS, Oct. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Joe Weitekamp is honored to be a guest clinician at the Bluebonnet Horse Expo. The Bluebonnet Horse Expo is a fundraiser for Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society.
The Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society (BEHS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of horses and other equids by educating and helping owners, assisting law enforcement agencies, rehabilitating abused horses and placing them into safe, permanent homes.
Proceeds from the Horse Expo provide care to the horses helped by BEHS. The Expo will be from 9am – 7pm on Saturday October 20, 2012, at the Travis County Expo Center in Austin, TX.
Joe Weitekamp will be presenting his clinic, "Gaining Trust and Respect on the Ground" as part of the Horse Training sessions at the Expo. Joe will be conducting the clinic in the Expo's Main Indoor Arena from 10am – 11:30am.
"The Clinic I'm presenting at the Bluebonnet Horse Expo covers the highlights of what I teach students at my two day Ground Work Clinics," explains Joe Weitekamp. "Everything you teach a horse on the ground translates to what you do on their back. Ground work makes your horse safer and opens the communication channel between horse and rider. If you want a good relationship with your horse, you need to start with proper ground work."
The Expo is a full day of horse activities. There will be over 50 horses and other equids available for adoption at the Expo. In addition to the horse clinics, there will be Trainers Challenge and Colt Starting Challenge competitions at the Expo as well as a tack swap. Admission is $8.00. Children 12 and under get in free.
