John Ullyot Joins Leadership of High Lantern Group in Washington
Adds to Media and Issues Management Offering at Rapidly Growing Strategic Communications Consultancy
WASHINGTON, March 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Today High Lantern Group announced that it has hired John Ullyot, a senior executive with over two decades' experience in strategic counsel, media relations and issues management in the public and private sectors. He joins the firm as a Managing Director, based in the Washington, DC office.

Ullyot comes to High Lantern Group after more than five years as a Senior Vice President with Hill+Knowlton Strategies, where he worked with leading companies and CEOs on many of their most critical issues, including product recalls, litigation, regulatory scrutiny and Congressional testimony. His top clients have included Medtronic, DHL, Ford, Deloitte, Zimmer, Pfizer, EADS, the United States Marine Corps and the University of Virginia Board of Governors. Before that, he was a long-time top advisor to former Senators John Warner and Arlen Specter, and served as vice president of corporate communications for AOL Europe.

Prior to joining H+K, Ullyot served for seven years in the U.S. Senate, as the top communications adviser and deputy chief-of-staff for two of the longest-serving Republican Senators, John Warner and Arlen Specter, and as communications director for two Senate Committees, including the Senate Committee on Armed Services throughout the war in Iraq from 2003 to 2007. He was also director of communications for two U.S. Senate campaigns, and a national media spokesman at the 2008 GOP Convention.
In the private sector, Ullyot served as vice president of corporate communications for AOL Europe, where he worked with corporate and country CEOs on issues management and regulatory matters in France, Germany, the U.K., Spain and Brussels. Previously, he was chief Washington spokesperson for the Intel Corporation, directing media strategy for the company's federal policy priorities. A graduate of Harvard University and a former intelligence officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, Ullyot provides regular commentary as a political strategist and national security analyst in national and global media outlets.
