Kansas Affiliate Dealership Excited To See Implementation of Green Energies
Kansas affiliate dealership excited that GM is bolstering green energy overseas and is looking to continue their 'green' growth
MANHATTAN, Kan., Aug. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- KansasStateCars.com, an affiliate Kansas car dealership, is excited to see that General Motors implemented such a vast amount of green technology just recently. Specifically, GM almost doubled their solar output by creating an 8.15-megawatt solar array on top of their Opel Rüsselsheim facility located in Germany.

For scale, the size of GM's new solar array is the size of 32 soccer fields put together and is already one of the largest built all across the European continent.
Kansas State Cars is mostly impressed with the fact that this new array will be able to create right around 7.3 million kW hours from sunlight alone. For scale, this shows for a reduction of 3,150 tons of CO2 annually.
Mike Robinson , GM's VP of Sustainability & Global Regulatory Affairs, is more than happy with this addition, stating that, "The projects we undertake in Europe are great examples of the way we roll sustainable practices into our manufacturing process. We seek out renewable energy opportunities around the world to help clean the grid, improve our bottom line, and reduce our impact on the environment."
Not only will the energy produced at the Opel plant power the grid for the GM plant, but the excess power will be fed into a public grid to help out elsewhere.
Kansas State Cars, a Kansas affiliate dealership, sells new Buick and GMC vehicles in Kansas and many other new car brands. Kansas State Cars also has an extensive used car inventory in Kansas as well.
