Kent Holloway of Ohio Receives Achievement Award From Organ Donation Association

MCLEAN, Va., July 1 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Thursday June 18th, 2009, the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO) recognized Kent Holloway by presenting him with the Association's 2009 Achievement Award. The AOPO award was supported by CryoLife. The winner must demonstrate significant professional and/or personal contributions to AOPO.

Mr. Holloway received the AOPO Achievement Award because of his tireless efforts to ensure data accuracy and quality assurance among Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs). As the leader of the AOPO Data and Information Committee since 2003, Holloway has lead AOPO to a significant increase in its annual survey participation. The annual survey is a key instrument for information sharing and proliferation of "best practices." His techniques have allowed the OPO community to benefit from a broad range of perspectives regarding many vital business units. His efforts have helped OPOs become more efficient in their efforts to help save lives across the nation.

Mr. Holloway is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of the Lifeline of Ohio Organ Procurement Agency (LOOP), where he previously served as their Chief Financial Officer (2000-2002). Holloway was also instrumental in the launch of the Indiana Organ Procurement Organization, Inc. and acted as their Vice President of Finance and Operations. Mr. Holloway possesses an undergraduate degree in math and business from Ball State University and a graduate degree in finance from Walsh College.

Mr. Holloway is an active member of the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations. In addition to heading the AOPO Data and Information Committee, he has also participated on the AOPO Strategic Directions Committee. Mr. Holloway was the co-author of the chapter entitled "The Economics of Organ Donation and Transplantation" in the North American Coordinator's Organization's (NATCO) A Clinician's Guide to Donation and Transplantation. He has served in many leadership capacities, which include his role as Content Expert for Development of Physician Compliance Education at the Healthcare Finance Mangers' Association.
