CITIES XL is the latest generation of city builder PC game where the gamer takes the role of a mayor, in charge of building a city and making it a prosperous place to live for his virtual citizens, financially, socially and environmentally.
Players will be able to build a KODAK EXPRESS Digital Solutions store in their city and, as part of the landmark building feature available to gamers, the KODAK Theatre from Hollywood can be built in their virtual cities. In addition, Kodak will be displayed on the various billboards in players' cities adding real-world credibility in the virtual environment and support the CITIES XL community in different contests beyond the initial launch of the game with KODAK Products to win.
"The Kodak brand is ubiquitous; we're found in every city, so it only made sense that Kodak became a part of the CITIES XL experience," said Jeffrey W. Hayzlett, Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President, Eastman Kodak Company. "Today, in addition to traditional marketing channels, we reach many people on the Internet where we have a significant social media and online advertising presence. Through interactive channels like CITIES XL, we reach consumers in yet another innovative outlet."
"We're very proud of our partnership with Kodak, a brand known to citizens of cities around the world and a brand that shares our passion for creativity," said Jerome Gastaldi, CEO, Monte Cristo. "Kodak provides the kind of realism and content that gamers expect from CITIES XL."
CITIES XL offers two playing modes: A "solo" mode where the mayor manages the city and a Online "Planet" mode where the mayor can, in addition to building and managing up to five cities, interact with the mayors of other cities and participate in a global economy. Thousands of players can build different cities in Planet mode and organize trade between their cities, collaborate on spectacular projects and continue playing on the Web.
CITIES XL is available from video game retailers worldwide and at www.citiesxl.com.
