CUPERTINO, Calif., Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Koombea today announced the release of the Track-r application for iPhone, a mobile client for the Pivotal Tracker agile project management tool. Koombea built the Track-r application using Rhomobile's RhoHub and the Rhodes "write once and run on many" framework to build the application on the web and utilized RhoSync providing application users with synchronized data within the application.
"We're excited to see what Koombea has done with the Pivotal Tracker API," said Dan Podsedly, Principal and Director of Engineering at Pivotal Labs. "We built the Pivotal Tracker API to enable developers to build on the functionality of the service and we think that building a mobile version of the Pivotal Tracker application is a great use of the API."
Track-r for iPhone is a mobile client for Pivotal Tracker and was designed to enable product owners and developers to take project tracking anywhere they go. Pivotal Tracker is a free agile project management tool that enables real time collaboration around a shared prioritized backlog. It features velocity tracking, emergent iterations and story-based iterative planning.
"Koombea uses Pivotal Tracker in our every day development environment and we wanted to build an associated application that has sync data capabilities," said Jonathan Tarud, CEO of Koombea. "Rhomobile's RhoHub allows us to build applications in the cloud, without having to download SDKs and the RhoSync server allows us to enable sync data for our app users. The Rhodes framework also enables us to deploy on more than one mobile OS, which we plan to do soon."
Track-r uses Rhomobile's Rhodes smartphone app framework to write native apps for all major smartphones very quickly. Rhomobile's RhoSync allows the Track-r users to sync data to the device allowing users to manage work whether or not there is an Internet or cellular connection available.
"Rhomobile is focused on providing developers with the tools to easily build native smartphone applications for multiple platforms in a flexible environment. We're delighted that Koombea used Rhodes to build Track-r," said Adam Blum, CEO of Rhomobile. "Track-r is an excellent example of how Rhodes and RhoSync can be used to create an application that mobilizes the workforce with synchronized data. Track-r is also more visually appealing and native looking than other issue and project tracking software we've seen for the iPhone. We're already reliant on Track-r to manage our own projects all of which are done on Pivotal Tracker."
