kVA Announces 4-day ISO 26262 Training Seminar in Detroit, Michigan
Free Software Tool and Optional FSCAE Certification for Attendees
DETROIT, Feb. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- kVA announces a four-day training session on the topic of Automotive Functional Safety and the ISO 26262 Standard. The training will be held at the Detroit Marriott Troy in Troy, Michigan, April 16-19 2012. This Detroit-area training event includes optional certification for attendees, as well as software tools to help implement the ISO 26262 standard. To register, please complete a registration form.

Training Developed by Experts: kVA's training modules are developed in cooperation with Germany's TUV-Nord, a world-leader in safety critical systems, and a recognized expert in safety-related training and education worldwide. Participants will receive a hard copy manual providing a comprehensive view of the ISO 26262 standard and its implications and requirements for the automotive industry.
Training to a Broad Audience, with Technical Depth: kVA's training is targeted toward a range of possible participants including:
- engineers working in automotive systems, and particularly those responsible for designing, testing, validating, and releasing safety critical systems

- safety representatives seeking to verify compliance with state-of-the-art standards in automotive development

Optional Certification for Individuals: This kVA training session includes an optional examination on Friday, April 20. Successful completion of the examination will qualify attendees as Functional Safety Certified Automotive Engineer (FSCAE), a certification administered and overseen by TUV-Nord. FSCAE certification demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of the ISO26262 standard and represents an independent verification of your comprehension of the standard.
Hardware FMEDA Tool for Attendees: All participants of the System and Hardware Session will receive the unique Excel-based FMEDA-Workbench database tool, developed by TUV-Nord, which streamlines FMEDA analysis in accordance with ISO 26262 principles.
Flexible Sessions for Different User Needs: The training is provided in three sessions allowing registrants to individually choose their desired sessions. The three sessions include: (1) Functional Safety Management, (2) System and Hardware Development, and (3) Software Development. Users can register to attend one session or all sessions. Note that only those attending the full four-day session can register for the examination toward FSCAE certification.
