Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA) Responds to FCC's Public Notice
WASHINGTON, Sept. 3 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Wednesday, Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Genachowski released a Public Notice seeking comment on two aspects of the Open Internet proceeding.
The Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA) released the following statement in reaction to the Public Notice:
"The Labor Council for Latin American Advancement supports preserving the Internet's current openness and freedom as well as policies that will lead to continued broadband investment and innovation. Thereby, LCLAA is encouraged by the progress that has been made in discussions around the FCC's open Internet proceeding and hopes the dialogue leads to consensus. Resolving this divisive debate will allow and enable efforts to build out America's broadband networks, which, in turn, will help foster economic growth. As a leading voice for Latino trade unionists, LCLAA has a vested interest in ensuring that the result of this proceeding will advance policies that promote jobs and affordable broadband. We look forward to sharing our thoughts on the matter."
