LastMile Communications Launches U.S. Subsidiary

 
 

~ LastMile USA Will Engage With Strategic Partners

and Business Customers in North America ~



    EXETER, UNITED KINGDOM/RALEIGH, NC, Dec. 20 /PRNewswire/ - LastMile
 Communications (www.lastmilecoms.com), a developer of software and hardware
 for the delivery of wireless location-based information services, has launched
 LastMile USA Inc., a U.S.-based subsidiary which will focus on strategic
 partnering and sales opportunities in North America.
     Based in Raleigh, North Carolina, LastMile USA Inc. will be headed up by
 Skip Ballou, president of the Americas and Asia-Pacific, whose primary focus
 is coordinating all of LastMile's activities in the U.S., including the
 management of all customer relationships, partnership activities and contract
 manufacturing.
     "LastMile USA gives us the point of presence to effectively engage all of
 our strategic partners, local government initiatives and business-to-business
 customers in North America," says Ballou. "We're looking forward to teaming
 with network operators, utilities, telecommunications companies and world-
 class content providers to help them serve the communities in which they
 operate and create new revenue channels by leveraging LastMile technology."
     Ballou's previous roles include Executive Vice President of Business
 Development and Intellectual Property at Raleigh, North Carolina-based World
 Theatre Inc., where he had complete corporate responsibility for strategic
 business development and global relations, as well as the creation and
 management of executive relationships with Fortune 100 companies such as GE,
 AT&T, and IBM. He has co-invented and filed 29 technology patent applications
 related to revolutionizing the entertainment and advertising industries.
     In addition, Ballou enjoyed a long varied career with IBM from 1981-2000,
 holding various sales positions for different U.S. regions and Asia Pacific.
