HOUSTON, Nov. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In early 2012 the Laura and John Arnold Foundation will release the Giving Library, an innovative online video library that will serve as a tool for philanthropists to more efficiently survey the landscape of giving opportunities and to connect with participating non-profits.
The website will be constructed primarily for use by foundation grant makers and large and medium-sized individual donors. The ultimate goal is to drive interest and support to the organizations featured in the online video library.
"There is not currently a way for philanthropists to quickly but substantively look into a large number of giving opportunities, and we intend for this new site to address that need. Individuals that use the Giving Library will be able to easily locate, study, and engage organizations that fit their giving criteria," says LJAF Director of Communications, Meredith Simonton. "What would have taken months or even years of meetings and travel can now be done in a matter of days, from anywhere, with just a computer."
LJAF is covering costs for participants so that it is free to participate. The featured organizations will be licensed for the use of their own videos. The site will be free to all users as well.
Applications for participation in the project are accepted until February 2012 or until all filming spaces are filled. For information on participating, please contact Nellie Hoppe at NHoppe@arnoldfoundation.org.
