Lawrence, KS Chrysler Dealer Impressed with WCM Savings Chrysler Group's New WCM Manufacturing Academy already reaping large savings after only six months of operation
LAWRENCE, Kan., June 26, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Briggs Chrysler, a Lawrence, Kansas Chrysler dealer, is more than pleased with the results that Chrysler Group's new World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Academy has seen in only six months of operation. So far, in only six months, they have generated more than $1 million dollars in savings and are on pace to save 2.5 million this year alone.
Chrysler Group has implemented all of WCM's principals and policies into all of their Canadian, U.S. and Mexican facilities thanks to Mauro Pino, Head of WCM for Chrysler Group. Pino anticipates all of these facilities will only show more and more savings each year as Chrysler Group will be able to save heavily in manufacturing costs.
Mauro Pino discussed why the implementation of WCM is important for Chrysler Group manufacturing plants, stating that, "The goal [of WCM] is to continuously improve performance in order to reach the objective of zero waste. Waste is broadly defined, and it includes the goal of zero accidents, zero breakdowns and zero inventories. This approach creates value for both the business and the customer, ensuring product quality and maximum flexibility in responding to customer needs by involving and motivating employees at every level."
Chrysler Group motivated employees by asking for their opinions and suggestions declaring that they would do their best to implement them. Well, 282,000 suggestions later and a 70 percent implementation rate later, it's safe to say they stood by their word.
