LCA Announces Former Senator Chuck Hagel as First Honorary Board Member

 

WASHINGTON, Jan. 4 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Lung Cancer Alliance (LCA) announced today that Chuck Hagel, a former U.S. Senator (R-NE) and current co-chairman of the President's Intelligence Advisory Board, has become the first member of LCA's new Honorary Board.

Hagel, who served two terms in the U.S. Senate from 1996 to 2009, is currently a distinguished Professor of foreign policy at Georgetown University and the University of Nebraska.

In addition to his appointment by President Obama last year as co-chair of the Intelligence Advisory Board, he is also a member of was Policy Board of the Secretary of Defense, the Board of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and numerous other private and public boards.

A former investment banker and business owner, Hagel is a decorated Vietnam combat veteran and served as Deputy Administrator of the Veterans Administration under President Reagan.
