Lead User Sought: Test the Carl Zeiss Cinemizer Free of Charge
Applicants From the US can Now Register Online
OBERKOCHEN, Germany, March 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Carl Zeiss, one of the
world's leading providers of optical solutions, is introducing its first
video eyewear onto the US market. Using the cinemizer, you can create a
genuine cinema feel while watching videos on mobile players, even when
travelling by train or plane. The glasses simulate a display at a distance
of two meters, equal in size to a 45-inch screen. To tailor and further
develop the product as closely as possible to customers' needs, Carl Zeiss
has launched a lead user campaign. During the first few weeks, over 3,000
people have applied to test the product in Germany. Now, video fans from
the US can also register at http://www.zeiss.com/cinemizer.
iPod, multimedia or DVD player required
Only one condition must be met when registering: testers need a
video-compatible iPod, another portable video player, a DVD player or a
games console. Carl Zeiss will select the lead users from among the
applicants, who can then test the cinemizer for 14 days free of charge, and
submit their verdict using a questionnaire.
"The great success of the lead user campaign in Germany has spurred us
on to repeat the offer in the US. Users can test the product at their
leisure before buying, and provide valuable feedback", states Andreas
Klavehn, Marketing Manager for the cinemizer. "In the US, platforms such as
iTunes offer considerably more films for rent and purchase. For cinemizer
users, this means endless opportunities to select films."
Cinema feel while on the move
The brainchild of the FROG design studio, the cinemizer projects videos
on portable players before your very eyes - and features the renowned Carl
Zeiss visual quality. Using individual adjustment options, all users can
savour unparalleled image quality and a flawless listening experience. In
addition, spectacle wearers can adjust the cinemizer to a prescription of
-3.5 to +3.5 dioptres separately on both sides, and the earpieces and
speakers are also adjustable.
Optimized for iPod with video and compatible with (almost) all other
players
The cinemizer has been optimized for use with all iPod models featuring
a video function. The package comes complete with holding clips for
different iPods. Using the iPod connector, users can plug in their iPod
easily without an extra cable for the battery box on the video eyewear, and
continue watching when the iPod batteries are low. You can also use the
cinemizer with other mobile video players or games consoles. All you need
is a cable with a 4-pin, 3.5mm A/V jack to plug it into the battery box of
the cinemizer.
Availability
The cinemizer is set to appear in the US during the second quarter of
2008.
