Chain Operations
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., March 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- LeapFrog

Chain Management applications to lower inventory, increase visibility
across global operations, better plan for spikes in demand and improve

Advanced Supply Chain Planning, Oracle Global Order Promising, Oracle
Demand Planning and Oracle Advanced Procurement.

Prior to implementing Oracle, LeapFrog relied on a customized point
solution and homegrown applications to manage its forecasting, demand
management and procurement processes. To support its high-volume business
and complex supply chain, LeapFrog needed to move to an integrated system.
Based on the success of its previous Oracle implementation, the company
retired its legacy environment and implemented Oracle Supply Chain
Management applications.
"We complete 80 percent of our business within a six-month period to
help ensure that our learning products and games are on the shelves of
Wal-Mart, Target and Toys "R" Us for the Christmas shopping season," said
LeapFrog CIO Robert Moon. "With Oracle, we now have the scalability and
visibility we need to support the dramatic fluctuations in our supply chain
and ensure that we meet our customer demand while reducing inventory
levels."
Better Visibility Improves Inventory Levels, Reduces Planning Cycle
With Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning, LeapFrog now has an
accurate view of the entire planning process to create comprehensive supply
chain plans that combine long-term forecasts and short-term scheduling.
Oracle Demand Planning collects data across sales, marketing, finance and
production and then uses workflow capabilities to route information, manage
processes and monitor performance. Forecasts are checked against actual
results allowing LeapFrog to continually improve plans. Additionally,
Oracle's Global Order Promising enhances the company's ability to make
real-time, reliable delivery commitments to customers and helps determine
the best supply location based on product and order request date.
LeapFrog has seen considerable benefit from the functionality within
Oracle Advanced Procurement which automates and transforms supply
management and inventory control practices. With users in Macau, Hong Kong
and London, LeapFrog needed a way to centralize its purchasing structure
while meeting country-specific compliance regulations. Oracle's leading
"Center Led Procurement" capability has allowed the company to streamline
its purchase orders, internal sales orders and automate transactions
between contact manufacturers in Asia and distribution points in the United
States, Europe and Asia. As a result, LeapFrog has reduced the total number
of global transactions required to run its operations.
Throughout the implementation, LeapFrog worked closely with Oracle's
development team to provide product feedback and insight. In addition to
deploying Oracle Supply Chain Management applications, LeapFrog also relies
on Oracle Database, Oracle iSupplier Portal, Oracle Financial Management,
Oracle Manufacturing and Oracle Order Management.
