Lend Lease to Build Bester Elementary School
WASHINGTON, Oct. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- On October 4, the Board of Education of Washington County Public Schools approved the award of Bester Elementary School to the Lend Lease Washington office.
Construction of the new 72,000 square foot replacement school, designed by Grimm + Parker and located in Hagerstown, MD, is scheduled to begin in July 2012. The existing Bester Elementary School, built in 1930, will remain operational until completion of its replacement school, after which it will be demolished to provide room for new ball fields and playgrounds.
