Lennox International Honored With 2009 North American Green HVAC&R Award From Frost & Sullivan
DALLAS, July 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Lennox International Inc. (NYSE: LII) today announced it has been honored with the 2009 North American Green HVAC&R Industry Innovation & Leadership of the Year Award from Frost & Sullivan. The Award recognizes LII's industry leadership through the company's pioneering technology, optimized product line, sound business strategy, and research & development initiatives. The Frost & Sullivan report also noted how LII "exceeds industry benchmarks and defeats stereotypes" through such initiatives as introducing Lennox SunSource(TM), the industry's first integrated solar-assisted residential heating and cooling system. Other recent LII innovations noted in the report included the use of Hypercore(TM) microchannel heat exchanger technology that reduces the necessary refrigerant charge in commercial refrigeration condensing units by up to 70 percent, and leading the industry in shipments of commercial HVAC units using environmentally-friendly R-410A refrigerant, including introducing the first commercial HVAC split systems using environmentally-friendly R-410A refrigerant in higher capacities.
