LG Electronics Unveils Energy Efficient Commercial Air Conditioning Systems for Hospitality Industry
Diverse HVAC Product Line Showcased At IH/MRS Reduces Energy Costs Without Sacrificing Design or Guest Comfort
NEW YORK, Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Bringing new energy-conscious climate control options to HVAC systems for the hospitality industry, LG Electronics U.S.A., Inc. is showcasing a range of commercial air conditioning systems at the 2009 International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show, which begins here today (Booth #3006).
"As hotels continually look to lower energy output and reduce costs, LG is proud to offer convenient new solutions in our ever-expanding line of commercial HVAC products," said Kelly Cutchins, vice president, Commercial Air Conditioning, LG Electronics USA, Inc. "Our Multi V Mini, PTAC and Art Cool lines exemplify LG's commitment to providing hoteliers with energy efficient products that also provide added guest benefits, including quieter operation and easy-to-use temperature control."
All of LG's 2009 commercial HVAC systems provide a range of solutions that are cost efficient, quiet and attractive, providing smart alternatives to both central HVAC and window-mounted air conditioners. LG's versatile Multi V line offers hotel owners the ultimate in HVAC, providing premier features such as precise load-matching and the option of simultaneous heating and cooling. These features are possible due to the utilization of innovative variable refrigerant flow technology that provides high efficiency at low sound levels while employing an environmentally responsible refrigerant.
Energy Efficiency and Savings
Strengthening LG's position as the leading provider of energy-efficient flat-panel HDTVs to the hospitality industry, the company's diverse Commercial Air Conditioning products are designed to provide hotel operators with energy savings through advanced technology coupled with creative design.
On display this week, LG's Multi V Mini illustrates that good things come in small packages. Furthering its commitment to providing energy efficient technologies in its products, LG utilizes an advanced Inverter compressor technology and an environmentally-friendly refrigerant in its Multi V Mini systems. This advanced variable refrigerant flow (VRF) heat pump system uses advanced inverter technology and zoned evaporators that promote better dehumidification and tighter temperature control while avoiding unnecessary energy consumption in unoccupied rooms. The LG Multi V Mini delivers one of the highest EERs available in the VRF equipment category.
Hoteliers can also use this technology to control which rooms receive air to avoid unnecessary energy usage for unoccupied rooms. With LG's Gold Fin Anti-corrosion coil protection the outdoor coil surface is covered and protected from the corrosive effects of outside air thereby extending the operational life of the unit. These units offer the environmentally friendlier refrigerant, R-410A.
Hoteliers can also take advantage of the energy-saving technology employed by LG's PTAC systems. Available in lines of 9,000-15,000 BTU, these systems sport energy efficiency ratings from 10.8 - 12.5. A model for efficiency, LG's PTAC unit's also have industry-leading low decibel ratings and an industry best Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating. Additionally, Motel operators will also appreciate that LG will be introducing PTAC models with the R-410A environmentally friendly refrigerant later this year.
LG's Art Cool Inverter Mirror uses an advanced Inverter compressor technology, which continues to operate at low speed to maintain temperature providing quieter operation, and reduced energy output as compared to conventional systems. As an alternative to the Inverter Mirror, LG's Art Cool Picture (model LAN121HNP) incorporates a picture frame design allowing it to blend with any room's decor, but also to deliver exceptional air-flow circulation.
Further enhancing the product lines, the "Environmental Control Manager" control on LG's HVAC offerings provides the most versatile energy management tools available on the market today. With this tool, hoteliers have the convenience of complete programmability and temperature control via the internet, from anywhere in the world, for both occupied and unoccupied rooms, saving money by lowering energy consumption operational cost. Its occupancy sensor senses both motion and heat, and has the ability to control unit operation to obtain the ideal room environment from both the owner's and the guest's perspective. The resulting energy savings can be as much as 40 percent in comparison to other LG models without this control.
Improved Guest Experience
Ideal for motels and boutique hotels, LG's Art Cool Inverter Mirror line is a slim rectangular wall-mounted interior evaporator designed with numerous features that conveniently and subtlety enhance the guest experience. Using the same advanced Inverter compressor technology used on the Multi V Mini, the Inverter Mirror runs constantly at a low rate of speed, even when the desired temperature is reached. This reduces operational noise, and even helps limit energy costs.
With a plasma air purifying system that uses three different filtration elements, the Inverter provides cleaner air to guests. Its unique Jet Cool(TM) system allows for fast cooling by distributing strong, cool air at a high speed for 30 minutes until the room reaches 64 F so guests don't have to wait to be comfortable. Available in four different BTU levels ranging from 9,000 to 24,000, the Inverter Mirror also has efficiency ratings between 16 to 19.7 SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating), providing hoteliers with an attractive and efficient option for climate control.
From the Art Cool family, LG's Picture model is a wall mounted system with a front panel that doubles as a picture frame with a 17.5 x 17.5-inch viewable area, to compliment any room's decor. Using a three-dimensional air flow system, the Art Cool frame cools a room evenly by distributing air from its bottom and both sides so guests are still able to personalize room temperature. Additionally, its Superlight BLDC Motor provides low operational sound of 29 decibels on low speed, so it is felt, but not heard. For additional convenience, both the Art Cool Picture and Inverter Mirror have wireless digital thermostats included for easy temperature adjustments.
Hoteliers and guests alike will also appreciate LG's PTAC products as they are the quietest in the industry with a STC rating of 30. Indoor decibel (dBA) values are 45-49 for cooling and 43-47 for heating which is equivalent to the sound levels in a conversation and a typical library setting, respectively.
