SAN ANTONIO, April 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Danielle Goldbeck, Process Engineer at Linde Engineering North America Inc. (LENA) will present how a dynamic simulation model can be used for optimizing and designing a natural gas liquids (NGL) plant at the Gas Processors Association Midstream Convention to be held April 9-11.
"With the variability of shale gas feed compositions, operators expect more flexibility and robustness in their plants. Coupled with the industry shift to standardization of NGL plants, it's more important than ever to optimize and evaluate various scenarios to maintain efficient, flexible operation without negatively impacting profitability and safety," said Tina Edvardsson, Director of Technology.
Co-authored with Thomas Martin and Martin Pottmann, "Dynamic Simulation Tool for NGL Recovery Units" will be presented on April 10. The presentation will discuss the differences between dynamic and steady-state simulation models, and will focus on the advantages of dynamic simulation over the sole use of the steady-state approach. "Dynamic simulation helps engineers to better understand key functions not fully revealed in steady-state simulation, and provides the functionality to apply multiple scenarios with one standard model," said Goldbeck. "Paired together, the two approaches can give a thorough picture of expected performance over a number of operating conditions."
