L.K. Machinery and SAPP Group Open First-of-Its-Kind Tech Center in North America
EDINBURGH, Ind., Oct. 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- L.K. Machinery, Inc., the world's largest die cast production machinery manufacturer, and SAPP Group, die cast tooling manufacturer specializing in die cast die production, announce the opening of a first-of-its-kind tech center in North America in anticipation of the 2015 Die Casting Congress & Exhibition, the industry's yearly gathering next week. The L.K./SAPP Advanced Casting Technology (ACT) Center located in Edinburg, Indiana, is a collaborative investment in future innovations, solutions and processes in die casting machine technology.
The ACT Center is a partnership between L.K. Machinery (LKM) and SAPP Group with a multi-million dollar investment in the center's facility, machinery and technology. ACT Center participant companies include StrikoWestofen America, IECI, Die Process Control Systems, Motultech-Baraldi, and ChemTrend.
The ACT Center will serve primarily as a hub for developing and testing of new production- capable dies before they are launched into production. The target products include large automotive structural components like torque boxes, pillars and structural nodes. Powertrain components like engine blocks and transmission cases and others will also be developed here for automotive OEM's and Tier I casting suppliers.
