LOS ANGELES, Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- In recognition of his ongoing commitment to creating a better living environment for children in the Los Angeles community, Steve Streit, founder and CEO of the Monrovia-based Green Dot Corporation, will be recognized with the 2010 Humanitarian Award by the Hollenbeck Police Activities League (PAL). The official PAL Awards Gala will be held March 2010.

The PAL Awards annually honor individuals, businesses and/or institutions that support its mission to bring hope and opportunity to the communities of Los Angeles. Mr. Streit is being recognized for his ongoing service to PAL's programs and for his personal volunteer work with other Los Angeles County children's causes, including serving as a "special friend" for children at Five Acres Children's Home in Altadena. Past recipients of this prestigious award include environmentalist/actor Ed Begley Jr. and Fox 11 news anchor Christine Devine.
