RALEIGH, N.C., April 9, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- R3 Remarketing, a Raleigh based E-waste recycling and IT asset management company has partnered with The Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC to offer local residences an opportunity to drop off their unwanted electronics and non-perishable food items. The event will be held at 3801 Tarheel Dr in Raleigh on Saturday, April 13 from 9am to 1pm.

EPA and state regulations limit how electronics can be recycled and ban the disposal of most electronics from landfills. Though electronic waste recycling is something that has existed for many years, local processing centers are typically few and inconveniently located. The problem of businesses and individuals not knowing how to properly recycle electronics, and not having a convenient place to drop off unused and unwanted electronics for recycling, has become a growing issue.

With the opening of their new 45,000 square foot facility, R3 Remarketing offers Raleigh a local E-waste recycling option with local processing and onsite evaluation and appraisals for IT assets which still may have value. R3 Remarketing will accept E-waste drop offs year-round between 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM Monday through Friday from both businesses and individuals.

In addition to offering businesses and individuals alike the opportunity to drop off unused and unwanted CPUs, monitors, servers, cell phones, and other office electronics, R3 Remarketing will begin offering several convenient collection events around the Raleigh area starting with the first event on Saturday, April 13, 2013. For larger collections, R3 does offer free E-waste collection within 15 miles of their facilities and collection with a nominal transportation charge for locations outside of a 15-mile radius.

R3 Remarketing is a local IT Asset management partner of small to mid-sized companies who has a strong commitment to insuring that E-waste is properly disposed of in the most environmentally friendly means possible. Since expanding their processing facility, R3 is now able to offer collection and processing of E-waste, as well as IT Assets which still have value, to their IT Asset Management clients as well as the larger general public.
