L'Oreal Celebrates 100 Years of Beauty With Volunteer Day in New York City

Worldwide Leader in Cosmetics Commemorates 100th Anniversary by Giving Back through Service Projects in New York City and Across the Nation

NEW YORK, June 4 /PRNewswire/ -- L'Oreal, a worldwide leader in cosmetics, celebrated its 100th anniversary today. In honor of this milestone, the American subsidiary commemorated the occasion by giving back to the community. More than 3,000 L'Oreal employees across the United States in New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Ohio, Colorado, Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennessee, Texas and Puerto Rico rolled up their sleeves and volunteered in their local communities. In support of the company's demonstration of generosity, L'Oreal Paris spokesperson Andie MacDowell, joined L'Oreal USA President and CEO Laurent Attal, and more than 100 L'Oreal USA employees, as they planted, painted and mulched at the East River and Corlears Hook Parks in Manhattan.

In New York, L'Oreal USA partnered, for the fourth year, with New York Cares to create 18 different service projects throughout the city, including the activities at East River Park and Corlears Hook Park. More than 600 L'Oreal employees fanned out across the city to spruce up parks, read with kids, paint murals, lead fitness activities with seniors, sort clothes to help homeless New Yorkers and much more. In addition, L'Oreal USA employees around the country dedicated their time and talents to a variety of other service projects such as preparing unemployed adults to re-enter the workforce, building children's bicycles and making meals at homeless shelters.
