MainStream GS Awarded 2nd Option Year on $90 Million USAF CPI Contract
Air Force Renewal of MainStream GS Contract Recognizes Strong Performance
BETHESDA, Md., Oct. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- MainStream GS, LLC, a leading management consulting firm that specializes in strategy development, strategy alignment and deployment, continuous process improvement, and program and project management, recently announced that the U.S. Air Force has chosen to exercise option year two of their five year contract for continuous process improvement (CPI) services. Under the terms of the contract, MainStream GS is responsible for executing CPI principles and strategies throughout the Air Force in order to consolidate and streamline projects, which, to date, have contributed significantly to cost savings for the Service.
"The Air Force is a very strategic customer for our firm and we are extremely pleased to continue to be a leading enabler of their CPI initiatives," said Kali Mistry, Vice President of Air Force Programs at MainStream GS. "With this option year award we have an opportunity to build on Air Force successes to date with performance improvement tools, specifically CPI, and help the Air Force get to the next level of impact and results," said Al Horowitz, President of MainStream GS.
In February 2006, Air Force leaders created the Air Force Smart Operations 21 (AFSO21) program office at the Pentagon in an effort to optimize the way the Service conducts its mission. The office was created to look at process improvement across the board and provide top-level guidance for implementing related initiatives.
One year later in February 2007, MainStream GS, in response to a competitive bid for CPI services, was awarded a single award five-year $90 million contract to support the Air Force in its AFSO21 mission. Working closely with senior Air Force leadership, MainStream GS provides a CPI approach fully aligned with AFSO21 principles. Specifically, MainStream GS provides training, guidance, coaching and mentoring to Air Force leadership and their organizations, aligning their CPI efforts to core objectives, overcoming barriers to change, and improving Service processes.
As a result of an enterprise-wide task order, MainStream GS' senior consultants are located within the headquarters of the Air Mobility Command (AMC/HQ) as well as at 14 domestic bases. AMC/HQ is in year two of an active strategy deployment that is aligning their AFSO21 efforts throughout the MAJCOM in order to achieve the AMC's breakthrough objectives of 'increasing system velocity and precision, eliminating waste in all processes, and creating a culture of self-sustainment and continuous process improvement.'
