Make It So, Number One - Sci-Fi Crew Game Quintet is Expanding

Quintet is one of the first arrivals in the burgeoning niche category of "crew" games. In order to win, players need to communicate and play cooperatively to operate the same space ship. There are 5 different roles—captain, helm, tactical, engineering and science—each contributing to the success of the mission.

This unusual new offering gives friends a fun way to connect and play together, as a party game in the same room, or from anywhere over the Internet. Quintet has become a popular pick among sci-fi enthusiasts who have always wanted to re-enact their favorite moments of a beloved TV series or movie.

AwesomeApps founder Carmine T. Guida developed this app to run on many types of devices. "I didn't want anyone to be left out of the fun," Guida said. The game currently supports Mac, PC, Linux, iPad and iPhone. Guida launched a fundraising campaign on Kickstarter to bring Quintet to Android devices: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/carmine/quintet-for-android

The Kickstarter project quickly became an Editor's Pick and was subsequently featured by Mashable, helping surpass its initial funding goal within just a few days. Guida has updated his campaign with a new funding target to bring Quintet to OUYA, the hot new indie gaming console.

The Kickstarter campaign runs through Saturday, June 8, and backers get the opportunity to earn upgrades, officer badges, a backer-only starship and even the ability to create a scenario in the game. For the duration of the Kickstarter project, all of Quintet's scenarios are free to play. Download options can be found at: http://quintet.us
