PRINCETON, N.J., Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Bringing a new dimension to the way people can buy and carry condoms, the makers of Trojan(R) Brand Condoms recently introduced Trojan 2GO(R), a new condom two-pack in a thin, protective and discreet plastic case. The new product, which is designed to stand-up to purses, wallets, pockets and backpacks, will be sold at the checkout counters of many food, drug and convenience retail locations, making Trojan 2GO both easy to carry and easy to purchase. The Trojan 2GO case can also be snapped into two halves for people planning to use only one condom, or if they want to give one to a friend. It's available in Her Pleasure Thin(TM) and Ultra Thin(TM) varieties.

Trojan 2GO is being introduced at a critical time. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Guttmacher Institute, annually there are about 3 million unintended pregnancies(1) and about 19 million sexually transmitted infections (STIs)(2) in the United States.

In fact, a new study commissioned by the makers of Trojan(R) Brand Condoms finds that many Americans report having sex outside of the bedroom. Indeed, the Trojan 2009 States of Pleasure Survey(3) finds a full 85 percent of respondents report having sex outside the bedroom, with 71 percent saying they've had sex in someone else's house and another 70 percent reporting having had sex in a car.

On a local level, Atlantians lead the way in public displays of affection with 59 percent of respondents agreeing they've had sex outside, followed by San Francisco (57 percent), Boston (55 percent), Houston (52 percent), Washington DC (50 percent), New York (47 percent), Los Angeles (47 percent), Chicago (45 percent), Philadelphia (41 percent) and Dallas-Ft. Worth (37 percent).

Houstonians were the most likely to have had sex in a car (71 percent). People in Atlanta seem to take advantage of the great outdoors, with this southern city's residents rating the highest likelihood of having sex in the woods (49 percent). New Yorkers bring new meaning to the phrase "teamwork," with 8 percent reporting they've engaged in sexual activity at a sports event.

Trojan 2GO Stars in MTV Video Music Award Nominated Music Video

Just as Americans are reporting sexual activity in some untraditional venues, Trojan 2GO is also turning up in some unique spots. In addition to its industry-first retail placement in the checkout aisle, the decidedly portable product is also making a cameo in rock band Cobra Starship's latest music video, "Good Girls Go Bad," which features Leighton Meester.

The Trojan 2GO scene dramatizes the product's portability and convenience. It's shown in a scene where two women in a speakeasy disguised as a bodega purchase the condoms before walking through the bodega's freezer and ending up at a secret party.
