TORONTO, Oct. 10, 2012 /CNW/ - Today, for the second consecutive year, Manulife Financial was recognized by Mediacorp as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers, an honour distinguishing the company as one of the country's best places to work.

Now in its 14th year, Canada's Top 100 Employer is an annual competition that evaluates and identifies the country's leading companies and organizations for attracting and retaining employees. The competition focuses on eight key areas: physical workplace; work and social atmosphere; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement.

In Canada, employees donated 34,000 volunteer hours in 2011, an increase of 41 per cent from 2010.
