MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Jan. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- After five years of working on BlackBerry devices, doctors at Maria Middelares (AZMM), a modern hospital in the outskirts of Ghent, Belgium, wanted more mobile capabilities to get their jobs done. AZMM made the decision to let employees use Android, iOS and Windows Phone 8.1+ devices secured with MobileIron (NASDAQ: MOBL), the leader in mobile enterprise security.

"With a limited IT staff, we needed a mobile security partner with expertise in multiple domains to be able to support our doctors and hospital staff," said Marc Monballieu, IT Manager, AZMM. "We explored the leading enterprise mobility management tools and selected MobileIron with partner Proximus for their range and depth of mobile security expertise and great user experience."

Employee choice and self-service, secured As iOS security was strengthened and the platform expanded to offer more and more mobile capabilities, AZMM employees wanted to be able to work on their choice of devices. AZMM knew it needed an enterprise mobility management (EMM) platform to secure a range of devices for employees. The key requirements in AZMM's EMM search were security, expertise in multiple domains, and self service capabilities with minimal documentation required from IT.

"Our employees can get their own devices up and running without intervention from IT. Because they can do everything on their own, IT is freed up to focus on more strategic projects," said Monballieu. "The next step for our hospital is to secure mobile content, so our employees can get the job done anytime, anywhere."

Today, AZMM manages a mix of corporate- and personally-owned iOS, Android, and Windows Phone 8.1+ devices for employees. Doctors have the option to securely use their personal devices, while AZMM provides corporate devices for hospital and administrative staff.
