Cord blood is a sample of blood collected from a baby's umbilical cord and placenta at the time of birth. This blood is a rich source of stem cells, which are increasingly used in the treatment of a wide range of diseases. The collection and long term storage of stem cells is a growing trend for young families and are the subject of increased regulation.

This new service offered by Marken covers the United States and a growing number of countries in Latin America. Cord blood distribution demands the kind of special attention that Marken is known for. Cord blood samples need to be delivered within 48 hours from time of birth to the final storage destination while maintaining a temperature of 4- 30C in special packaging.
