Martyn Ravenhill Recaps the Opening of the Liberace Exhibit at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas
Martyn Ravenhill, a long-time lover of Liberace, is the current owner of the legend's Las Vegas mansion and was a distinguished guest at the opening of the new exhibit out front of the Cosmopolitan on the Vegas Strip.
LAS VEGAS, Dec. 27, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Martyn Ravenhill is a long-time fan of Liberace. In fact, the businessman and recent author is the owner of Liberace's former Las Vegas mansion. He is currently in the process of restoring the historical site to its full grandeur. Recently, Martyn Ravenhill attended the opening of the Liberace exhibit at the Cosmopolitan as a distinguished guest.
For six weeks in December and ending January second, Vegas-goers will be able to view some of Liberace's most decorative and opulent clothes in a pop-up exhibit that is located just inside of the Cosmopolitan's Vegas Strip entrance. The exhibit is open and free to the public to be enjoyed from 3-10 p.m. every day, though donations are encouraged and will go towards supporting the Liberace Foundation's scholarship fund.
The attraction is titled "Too Much of a Good Thing is Wonderful: Liberace and the Art of Costume." Anyone who is aware of the pianists' extravagant costumes that were oftentimes completely rhinestone-encrusted can attest to the fact that Liberace designed and wore some of the most incredible costumes of all time.
The exhibit shows off several of Liberace's most prized possessions including boots, bow ties, a fox fur coat that boasts a 15-foot train, as well as various other costumes that feature pearls, sequins, and more. Liberace's rhinestone-encrusted piano and one of his many classic cars are also on display.
As a distinguished guest, Martyn Ravenhill was able to tour the exhibit with other dignitaries before the general public got to see all the wonder that is inside. Martyn was shown around by the exhibit's curators as well as by representatives from the Liberace Foundation.
"This is an outstanding exhibit that truly shows off some of the best clothing and personal effects that Liberace owned," Martyn Ravenhill said. "It is thrilling that so many people will now be able to view these items right from the heart of the Vegas Strip itself."
