Massage Therapist Job Network Launched Online
EVANSTON, Ill., Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Massage Therapy
Association(R) (AMTA(R)) has launched a national Job Network for professional
massage therapists on its web site. This unique program taps the largest pool
of professionals in the field to link therapists and potential employers.
Located at www.amtamassage.org, the Job Network provides clinics,
hospitals, chiropractic offices, spas, health clubs, hotels, resorts, and
other employers the opportunity to advertise job openings for massage
therapists directly to AMTA's membership of more than 37,000. As a free
member service, the Job Network also allows AMTA members who are looking for
new positions to post their resumes. Advertisers are provided with a password
that allows them to search the resume database.
The AMTA Job Network also offers massage therapists and related businesses
the opportunity to sell their practices or small businesses through on-line
classified ads. The advertising rate for the Job Network and classified ads
is 50 words for 90 days for $50. On-line credit card processing is secured
with the CyberCash(TM) system using the latest SSL methods.
According to a 1998 consumer survey conducted by Opinion Research
Corporation, Americans are seeking relief from stress, recovery from injury
and better health through therapeutic massage in record numbers. More than
one in five adults report having had a massage from a massage therapist in the
past five years. All AMTA Professional members have demonstrated a certain
level of skill and knowledge through education and testing. New Professional
members must be graduates of training programs accredited by the Commission on
Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA), be Nationally Certified in Therapeutic
Massage & Bodywork, or have a current AMTA-accepted city, state or provincial
license. AMTA is the largest and oldest professional association for massage
therapists.
