2008 Massey Annual Report Honored by 23rd International ARC Award

RICHMOND, Va., Aug. 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Massey Energy Company (NYSE: MEE) announced today that it has been recognized with a MerComm ARC International Award for its 2008 annual report. The award, which recognizes excellence in professional communications, honors Massey's Essential: 2008 Massey Energy Annual Report as the top annual report in the Coal Producer/Energy category. More than 1,800 submissions from 25 countries were made to the 2009 ARC competition.
