DULUTH, Ga., Aug. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Merial has added three veterinary professionals to its Large Animal Veterinary Services team. This team provides professional and technical support to the company's sales and marketing functions. Drs. Kerry Barling, Stephen Foulke and Sarah Reuss joined the team in June and July respectively.
"Merial's three veterinarian hires bring extensive field knowledge and experience to their teams," said Michael Hamby, head of ruminant, equine and VPH business. "We're confident that this investment in talent will further our vision of enhancing the health, well-being and performance of large animals."
Barling comes to Merial with over 25 years of experience in large animal practice in Texas and Kentucky.
Barling most recently worked as the Global Manager of Beef Technology for Lallemand Animal Nutrition. He previously served as a beef cattle veterinary consultant in Texas, and as Senior Professional Services Veterinarian at Novartis Animal Health. Barling also taught beef cattle medicine at Texas A&M University's College of Veterinary Medicine, where he completed his bachelor's degree, DVM and doctorate in veterinary microbiology.
Foulke brings 26 years of private practice leadership experience and a board certification in dairy practice to the business.
Foulke served as a partner in a large dairy veterinary practice in Pennsylvania beginning in 1994. While in that role, he challenged producers to implement dairy herd visits, herd health programs and to improve quality and quantity of milk produced. He attended the University of Maryland for undergraduate studies and obtained his doctorate in veterinary medicine from the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech in 1990.
Reuss joins the Merial team after five years of experience as a Clinical Assistant Professor and Chief of Large Animal Medicine Service at the University of Florida.
As a board-certified large animal internal medicine specialist, she practiced at an equine veterinary Hospital in Spokane, Washington, for a year after completing a residency in large animal internal medicine at Texas A&M University. Reuss received her bachelor's degree in animal bioscience from Pennsylvania State University, followed by a VMD from the University of Pennsylvania. She currently serves on committees for the American Association of Equine Practitioners, American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and American Veterinary Medical Association.
