SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Merriman Curhan Ford Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: MERR) today announced that it has appointed Duane Zitzner as its eighth independent advisory board member.

Zitzner is the former executive vice president of Hewlett-Packard's Personal Systems Group. During his tenure, Zitzner oversaw the development and manufacturing of HP's business and consumer products, which included desktop and notebook PCs, handheld products, personal storage appliances and workstations. Prior to managing the Personal Systems Group, Zitzner oversaw all of HP's Enterprise Systems business including both the hardware and software programs. Zitzner serves on the boards of Alien Technology, Entone, ProStor, Synnex, and Firetide, and is business advisor to the National ICT of Australia and SQLstream.

In his advisory board role, Zitzner will draw on his vast technology leadership and sales management experience, as well as his Silicon Valley relationships, to help Merriman Curhan Ford's senior management create greater depth in the firm's Technology practice.
