"Dwyane's leadership and personal interest in helping young people
develop their goals is aligned with the core of what we do," said Mourning.
"I look forward to a successful partnership with him as he lends an
additional boost to ZSG and our community-centered efforts."
ZSG, July 9-13, 2008, is Miami's blockbuster summer event. It has grown
over the years to a five-day weekend including golf, comedy, concert,
benefit dinner, block party, all-star basketball game, and after-parties.
"Alonzo and I share the same vision. I've learned so much from him
about the importance of using our successes and voices to positively affect
change in the community," said Wade. "This is very exciting and personal
because we're merging our goals for a greater impact."
Now in its 12th year, proceeds from ZSG benefit Alonzo Mourning
Charities and Wade's World Foundation. Miccosukee is proud to be on board
for the second year as the ZSG Title Sponsor: "The Tribe is pleased to be
teaming up with these NBA stars in this genuine effort to make a positive
difference in our community," said Billy Cypress, Chairman of the
Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida.
ZSG Host Committee Chair Jerry Powers, Publisher of Ocean Drive
Magazine, not only has the pulse of the city at his fingertips but will
also lend his wealth of knowledge and expertise to bring more awareness and
resources, keeping ZSG at the forefront of South Florida year-round. "Ocean
Drive Magazine and Alonzo have always shared the philosophy of giving back
to our community," said Powers. "I support and applaud Alonzo Mourning and
Dwyane Wade's commitment to grow this organization."
ZSG also launched a new travel-booking engine making it easier for the
growing fan base outside of South Florida to make hotel arrangements and
buy tickets. Guests can visit http://www.ZSG.com/Travel and secure hotel
reservations, book ZSG tickets, and find deals on American Airlines and
Avis Rent A Car. Visit http://www.ZSG.com or call 305/476-0095.
