Mike Castrucci Chevrolet Helps Consumers Save Money With 2013 Chevy Malibu Eco in Cincinnati Efficient Chevy car uses technology like electronic power assist steering
CINCINNATI, April 17, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The team at Mike Castrucci Chevrolet knows the importance of saving money in this day and age. That's why the premier Cincinnati Chevy dealer is proud to stock the 2013 Chevy Malibu Eco in Cincinnati. The new Chevy Malibu Eco, the first 2013 Chevy offered for sale, is amazingly fuel efficient by getting 37 miles per gallon on the highway. This makes it Chevy's most fuel efficient midsize sedan ever.
To obtain such impressive fuel economy numbers, the 2013 Chevy Malibu Eco has been fitted with the best in fuel saving technology. One such technology is electronic power assist steering, which uses power only during steering maneuvers, saving from a traditional hydraulic pump which operates constantly. The system has other advantages as well, including making steering easier and more comfortable for the driver. While this is a big breakthrough, it is just one of many for Chevrolet.
"Electric power assist steering is just one example of how a system improvement can deliver not one but several benefits to customers," said General Motors Global Vehicle Performance Manager Mark Meyers.
In addition to the power steering technology, the 2013 Chevy Malibu Eco also features eAssist technology, which actually shuts down the fuel delivery system on the Malibu at times during deceleration. While it is shut off, the motor-generator continues to spin to allow the system to restart smoothly when the driver's foot comes off of the brake pedal. This system also features a lithium-ion battery that stores energy that was previously lost during braking, and uses it to power components.
