Mike Castrucci of Alexandria compares popular vehicle choices
Lincoln MKX vs. Buick Enclave and Lincoln MKZ vs. Chrysler 300 are compared
ALEXANDRIA, Ky., April 19, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The search for a new vehicle can be a frustrating venture for many people. There are literally hundreds of options out there that perspective buyers must comb through. Among the first things that new car buyers must think about is how many people they will be transporting and how much stuff will they be bringing with them. For the sake of argument, we know that someone needs the seating capacity and cargo space of an SUV. But what make and model should they bring home. Mike Castrucci of Alexandria has a very attractive option in the Lincoln MKX, but how does it stack up against competitors. To answer that question, the Mike Castrucci of Alexandria staff has compared the 2013 Lincoln MKX vs. the 2013 Buick Enclave.
First of all, both vehicles are long on luxury and features. Both vehicles provide comfortable rides with appropriate handling characteristics. So where does an advantage for either one take over? That would come in terms of fuel-economy. The 2013 Lincoln MKX is powered by a 3.7-liter, V-6 engine with 305-horsepower available and still records 19 miles per gallon in the city and 26 miles per gallon on the highway. For the Buick Enclave, a 3.6-liter, V-6 engine comes standard and it makes 288 horsepower while getting 17 mpg (city) and 24 mpg (highway). The Lincoln MKX also has more standard features available on its base trim than does the Buick Enclave. The Lincoln SUV also features the Lincoln MyKey system that allows a parent to set certain limits on teen drivers like top radio volume and maximum speed.
For those looking for something a little small that still offers a luxury ride, Mike Castrucci of Alexandria has also compared the 2013 Lincoln MKZ vs. the 2013 Chrysler 300. These are two luxury cars that have taken very different approaches to building luxury cars. The Lincoln MKZ has a more traditional tack with a lot of luxury and premium materials making up the passenger cabin as well as the sweeping grille that was inspired by a popular Lincoln model from the 1930s. The Chrysler 300 is unabashedly making a statement about horsepower. Its entire line is filled with powerful V-6 and V-8 engines that top out at 470-horsepower. That may appeal to some, but the trade off is weak fuel economy. The Lincoln MKZ will get up to 22 miles per gallon in the city and 33 miles per gallon on the highway. The Chrysler 300 gets only 19 mpg (city) and 31 mpg (highway) with its most fuel-efficient model.
