Military Pays for Personal Trainer Certification, Reports ISSA

CARPINTERIA, Calif., May 26 /PRNewswire/ -- In addition to entering the growing fitness industry, military personnel have a good reason to get certified as a personal trainer - it's paid for as part of the Military Tuition Assistance program.

Since 1988, after releasing the industry's first personal trainer certification program, ISSA has helped nearly 125,000 people enjoy a career in fitness. "Since we were awarded national accreditation, the number of new students with military background enrolling for a fitness certification has risen dramatically," reports Dr. Sal Arria, CEO and Founder of the ISSA. "Many are taking advantage of the Military's Tuition Assistance program, which reimburses military personnel for their education."

Scott Dyck is a former Sergeant in the Army National Guard, who studied for ISSA's Certified Fitness Trainer (CFT) personal trainer certification while deployed. "Studying overseas was available to me because of the ISSA distance education program," reports Dyck. "Not only did the military reimburse me for my education, but I now enjoy a career in fitness helping others." Dyck is currently a personal trainer in Philadelphia, where he does bootcamp classes and works for Healthease, Inc. developing corporate fitness programs for employees.

Former United States Marine Lorrie Henry from Phoenix, AZ is a community TV fitness celebrity, a potential personal trainer on NBC's Biggest Loser, and a 20 year veteran to fitness. Holding a CFT personal trainer certification, Henry works with clients of all backgrounds. "I enjoy being diversified in my business as it keeps my fitness training skills sharp working with many kinds of clients ranging from the elderly to athletes to a 25-year-old toning muscles for her wedding day," says Henry, who joins forces with local medical offices to assist patients in their weight loss efforts.
