
Minnesota’s 529 Plan Launches Summer Reading Program Sweepstakes on 5-29 Day!
Parents have a chance to win $1,000 towards college
MINNEAPOLIS, May 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Minnesota College Savings Plan is launching the 3rd annual Summer Reading Program Sweepstakes, Destination College Savings, on a special day this year, May 29, 2011 – or 5-29 Day!
The Minnesota College Savings Plan is Minnesota’s official Section 529 plan, administered by the Minnesota Office of Higher Education and managed by TIAA-CREF Tuition Financing, Inc. As of May 25, 2011, the Plan has helped over 55,000 families save close to $900 million toward a child’s future college education.
The Destination College Savings Sweepstakes launches on May 29, 2011 (5-29 Day) and runs through August 12, 2011. It will award fifteen $1,000 prizes to parents with a participating child in the Summer Reading Program at local libraries throughout Minnesota. The prize can be used toward the child’s future college education. Plus, the winners’ local libraries will each receive $500 toward their future reading programs. Parents can enter to win by filling out an official Entry Card at a participating Minnesota library when signing up their children for the Summer Reading Program.
