DEARBORN, Mich., May 4, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Attorney Joumana Kayrouz, President and owner of the Law Offices of Joumana Kayrouz, P.L.L.C., announced today that the Miss Lebanon Emigrants, USA – 2012 pageant is in the final stages of planning and promises to be a magical evening for all in attendance.
As President of Miss Lebanon Emigrants, USA - 2012 http://www.misslebanonemigrants.com/, Ms. Kayrouz has been charged with developing and implementing plans for this year's event. The event, held annually since the 1950's, honors both American and Lebanese culture. The evening will feature entertainment by internationally renowned artists, Ayaman Zbib and Nancy Afiouni.
The attendance of Miss Lebanon Emigrants, USA - 2011 winner, Krystelle Khoury, will be among the highpoints of this year's pageant. She will speak about her experiences during the past year before turning over the crown to the 2012 winner in Lebanon.
Khoury was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Zahle, Lebanon until the age of 11, when she emigrated back to the United States and continued her education. Khoury's exposure to many diverse cultures, both in the United States and Lebanon, has fueled her desire to learn more about the world. Even while doing so, she remains very passionate about her studies and improving the environment. She is currently attending St. Francis College, majoring in biology in the hopes of attending medical school.
Khoury, said: "It amazes me how fast the time has flown by, and I'm eager to see who I will be passing down the crown to. One of the most valuable lessons that I have learned this year was that beauty truly is inner and not outer. This is not about who'd the prettiest, it's about who is the strongest, and who has the fire inside them to positively project their energy on stage. You might be capable of doing things that you would have never imagined yourself doing, just give yourself that chance."
Women will be arriving in Dearborn from across the United States for a chance at the 2012 title. The winner of the Dearborn beauty pageant will join pre-pageant winners from more than 35 other countries at Castle Assouf in Dhour Shweir, Lebanon on August 11. Many of the Miss Lebanon Emigrants USA contestants have gone on to international fame including Rima Fakih who won in 2008 and was named Miss USA at the pageant in 2010.
Georgina Rizk, who became Lebanon's first Miss Universe in 1971, will be attending – in her first official visit to the United States in more than 20 years – along with Lebanese Minister for Tourism HE Fady Abboud, and other Lebanese and American dignitaries, including the founder of AUD (American University of Dubai).
Kayrouz, said: "I am very excited about this year's event. While we will be celebrating beauty and culture, we will also remember the shared American and Lebanese values of community and giving back – which have always been key components of the Miss Lebanon Emigrant organization from the 1950's, with partial proceeds from the evening going to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital in Beirut.
"The winner of the USA contest will receive an all-expense-paid 15-day trip to Lebanon to participate in the Miss Lebanon Emigrants 2012 beauty pageant. There are other benefits, too, Kayrouz said including tuition for one semester at one of the American Universities in Beirut, a 3-day vacation cruise and more. The winner of the Miss Lebanon Emigrants 2012 pageant held in Lebanon will receive more than $50,000 in prizes and benefits."
