Firm Hires David Trone Director of Research/Banks Analyst and Ian Ing to Cover Semiconductors
STAMFORD, Conn., Nov. 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- MKM Partners today announced that David Trone has joined as Managing Director, Director of Research and Research Analyst covering banks and brokers. In addition, as a member of MKM's Equity Operating Committee, David will help grow the firm's institutional research, sales and trading platform. David joins MKM Partners most recently from JMP Securities where he served as Managing Director, Head of Banks and Brokers Research from 2010-2013. Prior to that, he served as Managing Director, Head of Banks and Brokers Research at Fox-Pitt Kelton from 2004-2010, where he ranked #2 among brokerage analysts in II's boutique/independent research poll. David began his equity research career as an analyst covering financial institutions at Credit Suisse First Boston (1997-2000), during which time CSFB was ranked #1 in Reuters' 2000 Survey of Mid/Smaller-Company Research in Banks, and Prudential Securities (2001-2004), where he was a top stock picker and ranked #1 with earnings estimate accuracy per Starmine/Forbes.com. David holds a M.B.A. in Finance and a B.S. in Computer Science from University of Maryland. He will be located in the Stamford headquarters.
Ian Ing has joined MKM Partners as Executive Director in its Equity Research department to cover semiconductor companies, complementing MKM's existing coverage of communications equipment, enterprise software, media and internet. Mr. Ing joins MKM Partners most recently from Lazard Capital Markets, where he covered semiconductors from 2011-2013. Prior to Lazard, Mr. Ing covered semiconductors at Gleacher & Company from 2007-2011, where he was known for increasing traction among client and sales votes, leveraging his semiconductor background for industry mosaic and stock calls. Ian's career includes experience on the industry side at Lattice Semiconductor (2000-2007) and Motorola (prior to 2000). Ian has a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a M.B.A from Columbia Business School where he was a Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society member. Ian will be located in the San Francisco office.
