Mobiata Launches TripDeck to Organize and Track Travel Itineraries on a Mobile Device
New App Offers Complete Itinerary Management with Real-Time Flight Status, Including Delays, Gate Changes and Other Alerts; Manages Car Rental, Hotel, Trains and Other Activities
ANN ARBOR, Mich., Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Mobiata, a leading provider of best-selling mobile travel applications, today announced the availability of TripDeck, a new premium app for the iPhone and iPod touch that organizes and tracks itineraries for travelers on the go. The app offers complete itinerary management for virtually every component of a business or personal trip, including flight information and live flight status, car rentals and driving directions, hotels, meeting times and locations, restaurants, trains and other related travel details.
A key differentiator for TripDeck is its real-time flight data that provides live flight status, delays and cancellations, gate changes, expected departure and arrival times, and more. Travelers can set "flight alerts" that automatically notify them via push notifications when a detail of their flight itinerary changes. Besides travelers themselves, this level of awareness is especially helpful for "flight trackers" who follow other people's itineraries for realtime status updates.
"TripDeck enables travelers to move their paper-based itineraries from multiple sources, which can be difficult to manage, to a mobile device, then edit their itineraries from the road," said Ben Kazez, president of Mobiata. "Travelers need a flexible, convenient tool that consolidates all their travel details into one central manager."
Itineraries can be input into TripDeck on the go or imported from another tool, such as online travel planner TripIt. TripDeck organizes an itinerary into "trip cards" for each event (e.g. flight, car rental, etc.) that are arranged in chronological order. Users can review upcoming events with a simple finger-swipe through the trip cards.
"The TripDeck interface is designed to quickly access the current point in an itinerary, thumb through upcoming events, rapidly update itinerary items, then share those updates with family, friends or business associates," said Kazez. "We also have included a fun feature where users can shake their phone to return to their next upcoming event."
The TripDeck is $9.99, and iPhone and iPod touch users can download the app from the iPhone App Store or at www.mobiata.com/tripdeck.
