Mobile Health Startup EveryFit Awarded $200,000 SBIR Contract from National Cancer Institute

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Sept. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- EveryFit, Inc. has been awarded a $200,000 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract from the National Cancer Institute to build a platform that enables revolutionary advancements in physical activity measurement and social health gaming.

Currently, public health researchers and wellness managers lack the tools needed to capture, analyze, and respond to user activity data efficiently. EveryFit's behavioral targeting platform will not only simplify the data collection process, but also enable researchers and companies to design contextualized social interventions that engage the user more effectively.

"We are excited about our partnership with the National Cancer Institute and the National Institute of Health," said EveryFit CEO Sombit Mishra. "With the explosion of diverse activity monitors and smartphones in the marketplace, there is a pressing need to standardize data collection and provide relevant, actionable content to researchers, companies, and users. This partnership will enable us to open a new frontier in activity-based interventions and health gaming."

This project has been funded in whole with Federal funds from the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services, under Contract No. HHSN261201100056C.
