Moldova Girl Crowned Miss Fujian Tulou 2009

 

ZHANGZHOU, China, Dec. 9 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- On Dec. 6, 2009, Ana Ropot, a 22-year-old girl from Moldova was crowned as the Winner of Miss Fujian Tulou (Nanjing) Beauty Competition 2009 during the award ceremony.

Before the final competition, 10 shortlists were offered a free trip to China's World Heritage site - Fujian Tulou, which is located in Nanjing County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province. Ana said she had lived in China for 3 years, and had been to more than 30 cities and areas in China, and this time Fujian Tulou impressed her most. Ana is studying international tourism management in Beijing. She speaks fluent Chinese and 6 other different languages.

After the event, the host will seek out Ana for future overseas promotional plans and activities, to attract more inbound tourists from all over the world.

First Runner Up is Beketova Yekaterinat from Kazakhstan, and 2nd Runner Up is Vershkova Marina from Russia.

This is the first time for China's World Heritage - Fujian Tulou to launch an online beauty competition. It is a creative marketing approach to promote Fujian Tulou as a world-level tourist destination to the world.

About Fujian Tulou in Nanjing

Fujian Tulou is "one of the most extraordinary types of Chinese rural dwellings" of the people in the mountainous areas in Fujian, China.

Nanjing County, located in the northwest of Zhangzhou City, is the hometown of Fujian Tulou. Nanjing is also known as the "Kingdom of Earth Buildings" where there are more than 15,000 Tulous scattered through out Nanjing County including 1300 large-scale Tulous.

On July 7, 2008, at the 32nd session of the UNESCO World Heritage Conference, Fujian Tulou were officially inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
