NEW YORK, Sept. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Montblanc has a long standing commitment of supporting those in need and as a testament to its touting 2009 as the year to help others through worldwide charitable efforts, the global luxury brand has recently announced its pledge of support to Child Advocates Inc. in Houston. In joining forces with Child Advocates, Montblanc has developed a special promotion for a limited time allowing residents of Houston to lend a hand in the fight to save children suffering from abuse and neglect.
From Wednesday, September 23rd through Friday, October 2nd, Houston residents will be able to purchase tickets for a drawing for which the winner will receive a fountain pen from one of the brand's classic fine writing instrument collections. Residents are encouraged to visit the Montblanc boutique or a special dedicated kiosk in Houston's famed Galleria mall where they will be able to participate in the limited time offer. Tickets will be sold in quantities of fifteen for fifteen dollars. All sales from the purchase of the tickets related to the drawing to be held on October 2nd will benefit Child Advocates.
On the evening of Thursday, October 1st, Montblanc and Child Advocates will host a special event in celebration of the brand's newly opened boutique and in support of the children's charity. In honor of the occasion, the Montblanc boutique known for offering clients a vast selection across the brand's collection of handcrafted luxury products, will be temporarily transformed into a live vault in which one-of-a-kind pieces from the Etoile de Montblanc Haute Joaillerie Collection will be showcased. At the heart of each piece in this unique collection sits the exclusive Montblanc Diamond. Eight years in the making and launched during the brand's centennial celebration in 2006, the Montblanc Diamond is shaped in the brand's iconic star symbol. Guests will be able to try on these exquisite pieces ranging in price from $120,000 to $5 million that have graced red carpets worldwide since their introduction.
Special entertainment during the evening will be provided by entertainer, Apollo, who has appeared on several primetime television specials and is better known as "The Gentleman Thief" for his unique ability to steal products from subjects without their knowledge. Throughout the evening guests will be invited to purchase tickets for the chance to win a ladies and men's timepiece. Tickets will be sold individually for the cost of $25 or $125 for a book of five; the number twenty-five symbolizing the 25th anniversary of Child Advocates. Funds donated through the ticket sales as well as ten percent of the proceeds from purchases made during the evening will benefit Child Advocates.
"Montblanc is proud to join Child Advocates in their tremendous efforts to provide brighter futures for children," said Jan-Patrick Schmitz, President and CEO of Montblanc North America. "It is our sincere hope that the residents of Houston will come together in support of this great charity so that their volunteers can continue to speak up on behalf of abused and neglected children."
