Montgomery Gentry Set 'You Do Your Thing' CD & DVD Release
Multiple Producers Contribute to Fourth Columbia Album
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Feb. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Rebel rousers Eddie Montgomery
and Troy Gentry -- better known as country music's award-winning duo
Montgomery Gentry -- will see their fourth Columbia Records album You Do Your
Thing hit stores on May 18, 2004. A corresponding commercial DVD of the same
name will be released a month earlier on April 20.
The first single from You Do Your Thing, the in-your-face "If You Ever
Stop Loving Me", is the duo's fastest-rising single to date -- already Top 30
in both R&R and Billboard. The music video features several of their Harley-
riding buddies from Southern California and is receiving heavy play at both
CMT and GAC. Billboard opined "This track will surely continue the duo's hot
streak at country radio and at cash registers."
In a move unique in country music, Montgomery Gentry drew on the talents
of Mark Wright, Jeffrey Steele, Rivers Rutherford, Joe Scaife and Blake
Chancey to individually produce the songs that make up You Do Your Thing.
Rutherford and Steele, who have both written songs recorded by Montgomery
Gentry, produced tracks that they wrote for You Do Your Thing.
"It only makes sense that Jeffrey and Rivers would produce their own
songs," said Troy. "Who better to produce a song than the guy who had the
vision and created it in the first place?"
"We've worked with all these guys over the years, and all of them
understand Montgomery Gentry music and where we're goin'," added Eddie. "It's
really cool how it all came together. When you got great songs, great
producers and great people behind you, it really challenges you to take it to
the next level."
"Montgomery Gentry has always been the hardest working band in country
music," said Sony Music Nashville President John Grady. "This will be the year
it all pays off for them. They have taken their music to another level with
this record. I think their entire career is about to go to the moon. I could
not be more proud of a piece of music than I am of this record."
The commercial DVD will include six music videos that have captured the
various facets of Montgomery Gentry along with audio commentary from Eddie and
Troy on each clip. The DVD will also contain a discography with album
highlights, a career timeline, exclusive photo scrapbook, web site info and an
all-access backstage pass with special behind-the-scenes footage shot during
last year's tour. The package will be available wherever CDs and DVDs are
sold.
The guys will hit the road on a headline tour this weekend with a new
stage and set.
